Marriage is not just about two people — it’s about the family you build together. Through the struggles and the lessons, we’ve been given the greatest gift: our children. They are living proof that love, patience, and perseverance can create something lasting and beautiful.

To anyone stepping into marriage now: know that it won’t always be easy. There will be trials, disagreements, and moments that test your strength. But if you hold on to each other, and remember that every challenge is shaping the life you’re building together, you’ll find joy even in the hard days.

Eight years have taught me that marriage is both a test and a blessing. And when you embrace both sides of that truth, you don’t just grow as a couple — you grow as a family. Alhamdulillah for the journey, the lessons, and the little ones who remind us every day why we keep choosing each other. 🤍

Pompeii was an ancient Roman city that was turned into ash and buried 15-20 ft under from the Mount Vesuvius eruption in 79 A.D. 🌋🇮🇹

There are still remains from the city including human figures covered in volcanic debris and turned to stone. These figures show the people in their final moments of life. It took about 15 minutes from the eruption to wipe out the entire city!

Can you believe that after all these years, the city still smells like ash?

What to do in Florence🇮🇹:

1. Visit Bobbli Gardens- These gardens are one of the greatest examples of an Italian garden in the 16th/ 17th century, with ornate fountains and renaissance statues.

2. Piazzale Michelangelo- this is a great viewpoint of the city where the replica of the ‘Statue of David’ is. If you decide to go at 🌅sunrise you’ll beat the crowds. We went both at sunset and sunrise and we loved both.

3. Ponte Vecchio- on this medieval bridge you can get picturesque views of the river and canals

4) The Accademia Gallery- Home to Michelangelo’s ‘Famous Statue of David’ It was originally displayed in the Piazza della Signoria but had to be moved indoors in 1873 to protect it from weather damage.

5. Piazza del Duomo- a square with lots of historic and religious landmarks/ museums. This a must visit when in Florence. There are so many cute cafes/ coffee shops in this square as well. Pro tip: if you want to visit the Duomo, you should buy tickets weeks in advance as it does get booked and unfortunately we were not able to get tickets on our trip.

6. Abbazia di San Miniato al Monte- This is a historic church on a hilltop and has some of the most beautiful views of the city. 🌆

7. Giotto’s Bell Tower- The experience of visiting the Bell Tower was amazing. You get a 360- degree view of the city up here. Pro-tip: Buy your tickets in advance and wear comfortable shoes. It is a narrow staircase with traffic going both ways.

8. Piazza deli Santa Croce- One of the main piazza/ squares located in central Florence.

9. St. Trinity Bridge- A bridge in Florence and is considered the oldest elliptic arch bridge in the world.

10. Take a day trip to Tuscany and visit the beautiful country side. You can also visit some of the Tuscan Villas when there.

11. When you’re in Florence, you must visit the infamous Al’antico Vinaio. They have 2 shops right next to each other and both lines wrap around the building from how yummy it is. It is a panini sandwich with your choice of meat/veggies(they have vegan options) on homemade focaccia. Take the sandwich and sit in front of one of the viewpoints I listed🫶🏼

What we did on our day trip from Milan—> Zermatt🇨🇭⬇️

🚗 We rented a car from Milan and drove the scenic route which was a 3- hour drive without any stops. The drive is the same route as the train ride(known to be the most scenic train ride in Western Europe). Indeed it was! 😍

🚞 Once you get to an area called Täsch, you will take a short 12 minute train ride from the “Matterhorn Terminal Täsch” to Zermatt. You can park your car in the parking garage provided and leave it for the day. Note that the train does depart every 20 minutes.

🚶🏽‍♀️Zermatt is car- free, meaning you will have to get around by walking or rent a horse carriage to take you around town.

🛤️Once you get to Zermatt there are endless possibilities of what you can do in this charming town.

⬇️ is a list of what to do/ what to eat:

🏔️ Enjoy the view of Matterhorn at a coffee shop or walking through the town (one of the most recognizable mountains in the world).

⛷️The most obvious reason someone would come or Zermatt is for the Skiing/ Snowboarding/etc. experience of the mountain itself. We personally did not do this since we were only there for the day but if you are staying for a few nights, I would definitely recommend.

🛍️The village has many boutique stores for you to shop if you aren’t into mountain activities

☕️Enjoy a cup of Swiss hot chocolate and a homemade strudel at any cafe in town.

🍫 Visit the Lindt Chocolate shop and take back home with you some chocolate/ hot chocolate unique to 🇨🇭. (It doesn’t taste anything like the Lindt in the US).

🍟We had McDonalds for dinner (I don’t eat this unless we are traveling), but let me tell you that it was the yummiest and the most $$ McDonalds we have tried in the world. We usually try McDonalds in every country we visit, so we had to try this one. To give you an idea, we paid a little over $100 USD for four burgers and four fries. They used grass fed beef and brioche buns so definitely more gourmet.

💰Lastly, keep in mind 🇨🇭 is one of the most expensive countries in the world which makes sense why we paid over $100 USDs for fast food.

Did you know that the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the United States and the 3rd largest aquarium in the world?
